Shoe Designs

The origin story of my shoe designs? Well, it's kind of funny, thanks to a bit of stubbornness on my part. You see, I was wandering around a mall one day when I spotted this crazy pair of shoes in a shop window. They were Nike Air Forces, but not just any - these had a comic design hand-painted on them.

The catch? The price tag. It was enough to make me pause. And in a moment of defiant inspiration, I thought, "I can do that." So, I took it as a challenge, did some research, and for the next few months, found myself immersed in shoe design.

Here are some of the designs I've come up with since then. Enjoy!

Shoe Design One - Comic Air Force 1's

Ah, the first pair of shoes I ever designed! As you can imagine, they were a bit of a rough draft. Armed only with Sharpies and a whole lot of enthusiasm, I wasn't quite up to speed with the ins and outs of shoe customization yet.

Sure, they looked pretty cool at first, but since I hadn't mastered the art of professional finishing yet, the colors began to fade and peel off quite quickly. But hey, everyone's got to start somewhere, right? And this pair holds a special place in my heart as they were the stepping stones to the designs you'll see on this site!

Shoe Design Two - Comic Nike Vision Court - Professional Finish

Onto my second pair of shoe designs! This time around, I decided to level up from my first attempt. The goal was to create a more professional version of the original design but with a color palette that was more of my style.

The process was a bit more involved this time. First up, prepping the shoes - sanding them down, and applying acetone on the areas I planned to paint. This step helped the paint adhere better to the leather. Next came the painting itself, for which I used specific leather paints.

And for the final touch? An application of a matte acrylic finisher. This ensured the paint wouldn't meet the same peeling fate as my first pair. The process was definitely longer, but the end result, well, you can decide that for yourself!

Shoe Design Three - Custom White Converse

Next up, we have a design inspired by One Piece Chapter 1045 - a truly standout moment in the series. It was such a unique image that I just had to incorporate it into a shoe design.

I took a pair of white Converse as my canvas, aiming for a look reminiscent of the Keith Haring White Converse. Given the canvas-like material of these shoes, there wasn't any prep work needed. Just dive in and paint - once it's on there, it's there to stay.

This pair is particularly dear to me. The design is one-of-a-kind, and there's something special about wearing a piece of a story that you love. Check them out and see what you think!

Shoe Design Four - Custom Comic Air Force 1's

And last but not least, here's a pair that was a commissioned design for a friend who loved the style of my first pair of shoes. Only this time around, I had a lot more experience under my belt. So, I could revisit that initial design but execute it in a more polished, professional way.

It was great to see how far I'd come from that first pair and even better to be able to share my work with a friend. I hope you enjoy checking them out as much as I enjoyed creating them!
